Contribute to the Building on Our Legacy Fund – Uplifting ABG Facilities
Please contribute to much needed facilities improvements at the Asheville Botanical Garden. Your donation will be doubled up to $150,000 through a matching Legacy Investment From Tourism (LIFT) Grant we have received from the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority (BCTDA).
Building on Our Legacy Funds will be used for a number of important projects:
- Renovating and updating our indoor classroom, meeting and event space at the Visitor Center.
- Adding patio seating at the front of the Visitor Center.
- Improving visitor safety at our entrance with new railings, stairs and improvements to handicapped parking.
- Rebuilding the Gazebo.
- Making functionality improvements to the Visitor Center, adding an additional entrance and installing new doors.
Work is scheduled to begin this summer and will be completed in 2025.
Improvements to the facilities will increase our ability to serve visitors and our community by:
- Upgrading to modern audio visual equipment for in person classes, meeting and events and adding remote learning and communication options for classes and meetings.
- Providing a modern and versatile rental space for community organizations, meetings, classes, events and parties.
- Improving safety at our main entrance with handrails and compliance with current ADA accessibility standards.
- Maintaining an important gathering place, by replacing rotting wood on the Gazebo.
